Yesterday we attended the Bonney Lake Elementary School Luau. It was a blast..we hung out with the kids, their friends, our friends the Robisons & the Gates, and just enjoyed the celebration. I missed Bear a lot..she was at her girlfriends house for a sleep over birthday party, it's always different without her..it feels wierd..I think maybe it's because we need to pay more attention to wear the other 3 are, instead of just assuming their fine because we know she is over seeing them...I guess it's a good break for her to get away from us.
The party was typical..almost an excuse to just wear funny leis, colorful clothes, and just look like tourist..I was able to teach a little bit of hula..which by far was the only authentic Hawaiian thing there..other then the tiki man background decoration and some blow up palmtrees...I instructed the Huki Luau beginners dance, and was surprised by the participation of those in attendance..but everyone was in great spirits and joined in the old Tradition Luau Dance!
The most exciting thing about the evening was Luka winning the Kindergarten hula hoop contest and the Limbo challenge. He was excited and pumped about that!
We also got to witness Josh Gates break it down..as he reminded Jenny (his wife) about his smooth moves...as he was dancing..he kept asking her.."Remember this..remember that?"...it was comical and I should have recorded it. We had such a great time..it's always fun to attend these school functions..everyone was getting down..and busting a move..Leanivas absence was a dissapointment to alot of her friends..they all inquired about her where abouts..I guess because it's their last year there..because I'm sure they will not be attending the Luau next year...she'll be to Kool for that.
Well, that was our Friday nite..it was Awesome..we partied it up ViKing StYle!
