Independance day

American Rhetoric: Movie Speech

"Independence Day" (1996)

The President: Good morning. In less than an hour, aircrafts from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind.

Mankind -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today.

We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.

We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps its fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from annihilation.

We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.

And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:

"We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on!

We're going to survive!"

Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

Like ever since this movie, I always think of this speech on the 4th of July...it makes you Darn Proud doesn't it? It does me. I had to work that morning but since business was slow I was able to leave early and catch a little of the Wards Annual 4th of July Breakfast and Parade.

Mom & Dad were able to be there this year.

The Portland boyz, the Adairs, and mOe was in attendance.

Last year my sister Laura and I led the primary kids around the parking lot for a 4th of July parade, and this year, yours truly took the reins and did it again...with my Lauralita by my side!
Liams first 4ht of July parade
E&M Robison..the cute&curly duo

There was an over cast that morning, which made the parade so much more easier and tolerable. Last year, I about died..it was so hot..but this year was just right!

There were so many places to go, but only one was promised. We spent the 4th with Mom and Dad. Dad had bought the kids a Slip and Slide for them to stay cool with
while we were down there.
The kids had a blast on that.
Lou backed out like a lil'chicken..that's alright, the boys would have still kicked her butt! So we tried it again..hoping she would slide..but Bear went solo..and was cruisin dad BBQ up some fantabulous EATS
It was such an awesome day. It was our first 4th with mom & dad since Rich and I
have been married...so it was nice to be with them! Bear was about done..I brought my swimsuit in case I dared the slide, but the last time I slid on one of those was before my kids...so that was before I had boobies! It actually looked like it would hurt! OOUCH!

The day went by nice and slow. The kids were just anxious for it to get dark because they had each got a medium size bag of fireworks from their daddy shelby...yeah thanks! I realy do hate fireworks...I mean I like the pretty artillery shell ones that go boom and sparkle all nice and pretty in the air...but there are some that just scare me! Fire scares meSo I was just enjoying the day while it lasted...the kids played in the water all day long. Of course if we were with my family, we would have been at the lake...so either way, they spent the 4th wet and in water!

I love my husband very very much. With every celebration/holiday, it always takes us back to our first that we ever shared. Some say nothing beats your first, but with Team Rich, so far it has only been getting better! Mom and dad bought
which by the way was totally freaking Awesome..I was kicking myself that it took me that long to watch it! All in all in was a very memorable, and exciting 4th! I was in bed by 8:30pm...granted I had to work the next day, but my allergies kicked up and I passed out after taking my pills...I totally missed the kids lighting their fireworks off...but there will be plenty more 4th's to come.

Must SEE movies

So here are the movies so far that we have seen. The latest was This movie was aWesoMe...it had your mixture of everything which is why it made such a great flick..Comedy, because Duh...it's Will Smith! Action, because he's a action hero, Drama, but not too much of it, but enough to make you want to tear up..but you so wont...and adventure..even though some parts you totally knew where it was going..it always kept you wanting to see more! It was not your typical Super hero movie though..and that is what I liked...like he didnt get the girl like superman, but he could fly..he didnt have a fabulous home like Batman, he did have issues like Peter Parker, but on a totally different level! So go and check it out!

The other one I seen and not sure if I would recommend it, only because it Freaked me out...is ..now this movie pops off really quick, within like the first 3 minutes the suspense occurs. Things start happening and your instantly hooked. I like movies like that! The ones that grab your attention early and not all prolonged, it makes you eat your popcorn faster, you squeeze your husbands arm all tight and hope nothing pops out at'cha or your liable to SCREAM loudly like a little school girl! yeah, totally that type of movie...Totally! It limits the humor, but adds it perfectly...it's well written, and you totally start thinking...like it made me start thinking about " What the heck would I do?"...and that's what freaked me out the MOST...I so wanted to call our kids right there and then to tell them I love them...but Rich wouldn't give me the phone..it has been a long time since I seen a movie that made me look away..not because it was gory, just more like I was hoping for the outcome to change even though I knew it wouldn't! Not a lot of fowl language. I cant remember though, probably no more then like 5...but don't quote me on that! This is so one of those movies that if your a talker, and what I mean by that is...during the movie your yelling at the screen saying..." dont go down that dark alley you twit....run, run run!" This is not the movie for you...WAIT until it comes out on DVD...because you will so be yelling up a storm at those folks!

Alright moving on... Now this movie everyone and their Mama knew it was going to be funny, and it is...it really is! The humor is there on both levels, but honestly it had more adult humor then children. Still though, it was like your typical and traditional Kung Fu movie as my hubby rich would say. The action part of it all was Great...I was jokingly telling my family that the Panda reminded me of a Samoan Dude...he cracked me up! But a must see with the family..gaurantee to make you laugh a lot!

Last but no least... Iron man...now I so need to give Big Ups to Robert Downey Jr.. This dude was sensational, and on top of his game. His best performance in a long time. Since Heart & Soul in my opinion..which means little to some, but anyways, quit reading my blogs then losers!!! hehehehe, I'm kidding...so he delivers a great performance as a Superhero, Genius. The action started off strong..it kind of dies down in the middle..well it simmers..then the drama picks up..which made me nervous about the whole thing..because it made me feel as if I could go to the restroom and I would not have missed a thing sort of speak...the superhero was obvious to get the girl in this one, a blind man could have seen that one coming..(no disrespect), but really he could of...the villian was obvious as well..but I still loved it because Robert did do a great job...I mean really...he did!

So there you have it folks, my recommendations for movies that I have seen so far this summer. I want to see many more so visit often, and leave comments. I want to know what you so think about the movies....Well not really, but it would be fun! I'm kidding..alright remember to silence your cell phones!

Where in the WHIRL have I been??

I've been MIA from the whole internet thing for sometime now. I never thought that day would come when I just wouldn't have enough time, nor the energy to get on the web and surf, get updates on my friends, post some pix and update my blog and space, check out CL, and check emails. But it Happened. Life has consumed me, and I have been totally exhausted some days that I just don't WANT to get on and see whats going down let alone update anyone. But it has made me feel out of the loop and distant. This is the first job that I have had where it doesn't require a computer in like almost 10 years. Between school
,Work
and my familyMy time is pretty much spent. I figure I have a pretty good bunch of friends, who know my dillio, and understand my absence in a lot of our outings and what not, but I miss them! (Door swings both ways though..hehehe) I so need to get a landline phone because you just cannot rely on me to check my email any more..which in the past, that was more of a sure way of contact for me.
I'm trying to move up in my company. Plans have already been put in place for me to start training. My goal is to one day soon be a GM of my own store. Right now since we have to start some where, the Assistant GM position will be just fine. It really all depends on how much training I'm able to get done, and where an opening is. But that's the update on me.Working on my Success in the world of Jamba..it's never work for me because I'm having so much fun. I cannot believe I make smoothies, and have an opportunity to make buka bucks doing it. I came into this only to work locally while attending Pierce, I had no expectations of the job, just to help out as much as I can...and look at where it has and will take me. I have changed my major to help accommodate my new direction. I love my life...it has been a WHIRL of
funa so far and I look forward to a great and promising future..Welcome to WHIRL baby.LiveLifeLiveWellLiveJamba-I'm here to simplify a healthier way of Living! Jamba style..Here are the steps in providing that for you : first we need Juice

Newest Member of Team Rich

A Miniature Schnauzer! That's what he is. We got him from a friend of Riches who is a registered AKC Schnauzer Breeder. He was only 8 weeks old when we got him the 17th of June for Riches birthday. The experience was totally cool, and different. Thats him on our way to Aunty Lauras house one day. He is so well behaved. He sat on my lap the whole time without making a sound. Well that is how it always is in the beginning. He goes on car rides every morning when I take Rich to meet Aunty Karen. He has his own car seat/bed thingy in the truck. He loves the slide. Bear will take him up our slide, and he'll totally come down it on his own. We have just been enjoying this dog a lot. Our trips to Petco are more meaningful now. He cant get his first haircut until he has had his rabies shots, which he is still to young for. But the kids have been doing great with him. After all the attempts in the past with the others, I was a little worried. But he's our Matcha man, and the newest member of Team Rich. He rules the house, poor Hilo and Kona can't come in any more without being chased around the kitchen and the dinning room. Pets are fun, their family in our house.

Pets of the Past and Present

So like our first family dog we got was for Lil'nivas birthday. Her Uncle Bill got it for her when she turned 7. It was a black lab mixed with husky. We named her Maui and she was so active, and big. She would get excited and jump all over the kids, but they were only babies then, so they would get hurt or intimidated by her that they lost interest. Some times they were scared of her. So we got rid of her.
Our next family pet didnt come until 2 years after Maui. Big rich promised the kids if they would keep up on their chores, behave for the babysitter, the could get a cat.
So they held their end of the bargain, and we got Hilo in Portland when we were visiting family over the Memorial Weekend in 2004. We instantly knew he was ours and meant to be in our family. We raised him fromm a kitten.
So 2 more years went by and we thought we would try another dog. The kids were older and had proven to be more responsible, so we got a Beagle. Her name was Lani.
Now bringing her home to Hilo was very interesting. Lani would act more like a Cat, and Hilo would be more like the dog and chase her around, and totally bully her. As you can see in the picture, Hilo would totally bully her out of her own BED!

Like he would creep up, stop and chill for a second...then scoot closer, until finally he would be laying in it and she would be on the floor. He is very teritorial and not to mention easy to maintain. Lani got to hard for the kids. Picking up poop, taking her potty, bathing, playing with her, training her...it was way to much! So we got rid of her. It wasn't until 2 more years later, we got Kona. Another cat.He was just a kitten when we got him. Rich got him for lil'niva as a Welcome home gift. She stayed behind the year we were sealed in CA to spend time with her aunty Mona, and her cousins, but mainly to get a break from her siblings. At first Hilo would act as if he had no interest in the kitten, but over time that changed. We love our pets. I remember when Hilo first got let out of the house, Rich was so worried, he was pacing down the hallway, opening the doors to see if he came home..he had never been let out of the house before..I remember we called Aunty Karen and Uncle Dale about Hilo's disapperance..it was funny, so needless to say, we are attached to our kitties! Their family..which brings me to realize that we get an animal every 2 years..because this year for Fathers day/birthday, Greg got a dog. So read the next post.

Our Anniversary

Greg and I shared another year on the 12th day of June for our civil marriage, and June 24th for our temple marriage. He surprised me by taking the day off. I was spoiled from the moment I woke up, until I went to bed. So we did the whole Jack and the Box for breakfast since we had to fax off a bunch of stuff at Office Depot..then we went to Buckley, and did the whole main street shopping thing...and we stopped at the Mexican Rest. there and had lunch.(Recommended)

Since our anniversary fell on a Thursday, we had Luka with us..but that was alright.
Thats us in the restaurant. They were reasonably priced, and Yummy!

I so cannot believe it has been another year. He's the best. Every day we learn more about each other and every day I fall more and more in love with him. It was nice to look back and remember our trip to CA in 2006 when we were sealed as a family. We took the kids out to the Old Country Buffet for dinner. Greg wants to do a renewal of our vows and give me the wedding that I WANTED, but was not able to have because he decided to join the church on our 10th year anniversary, or the 8th.
Thats the look for..."SO WE BETTER START SAVING" because I want it ALL!

1st Pedicure

For fathers day I took bIg rIch to get a Pedicure. It was AweSome..it was his first time, so he was kind of nervous..but he's always bothering the kids to rub his feet, and bribing them money, candy or favors. So this was perfect!
He got all relaxed in his chair, got the massager set to rub every inch of his back, and just chilled as if he was a natural, a regular at visiting nail salons...he cracked me up! He kept saying.."OMGosh, they do that?" "This feels Great".I was in the chair next to him, trying to communicate with my non-speaking english pedicurist (whatever their called)about filing my flesh, she was killing me!...anyways, he was enjoying himself especially when she started working out that hangnail that had been embedded for hundreds of years! J/K.He was sold on the wax..once she dipped his feet in there, he looked over at me and was like, " Lets do this once a month!"She offered to paint a pretty butterfly on his toe's but he sadly declined..hehehe, but she did a natural color..it was by far the best manicure I have gotten. We highly recommend True Nails in Bonney Lake!
