Field Trip w/ Luka

Rich took the day off to attend Luka's First EVER field trip with his Kindergarten Class on Friday to Pt.Defiance Zoo.
As a parent chaperon you are also assigned to another child while at the zoo as well as your own. Some parents had more then others, but Luke just had his daddy and another friend.
He had all sorts of stories to tell me when they got home. He was going on for hours about the Monkeys, Walruses, and the sharks. You would think that this was his first time seeing animals before, or his first time at a zoo ever!! In a way it might as well been. The first time we took him he was a lot younger, and it was the Woodland Park Zoo!

But man, he was pumped for this day. All week he asked us "What's the date today?" and we would reply.."your field trip is not till Friday luke"...he was so jazzed that in the morning..he came running into our bedroom telling his daddy to get up and get ready we cant be late.
This kid got home and went on and on and on...so did his dad though. Big Rich was just amazed on how many lil'girls in Lukes class that just ADORE him. No kidding he says.."on girl was all in his face, close enough to kiss him, and just repeating his name..luka..luka"...another girl said to him " you know you like me!"...GREAT..my lil'kindergarten Don Juan De Marco...no joke Rich said..all of the girls talked to Luka more then any other Boy in Kindergarten...That worries me!
There were other Elementary schools there at the zoo that day, and due to the weather, some of the animals were just not as active...some where sleeping..and others didnt even bother to come out and visit. This Poor Reindeer looked pathetic, and shabby. Rich said some kid from another school asked his chaperon what that was, and because of it's appearance and health she was not sure..poor thing! But the boys enjoyed looking at it, wondering if it was going to live!
The monkeys were behaving all to well when the boys got there. I guess once Rich snapped the photo, the monkeys started fighting and became more active..everyone wants 2 B a star!
Despite the rain, Rich and Luke had a wonderful time together.
Nice father and son time. He's always down to be apart of anything they do. I love that he makes time to attend these things! One kid was asked how come his mom or dad did not come on the field trip, and his reply was, "someone has to pay the bills around here my dad said, and my mom cant get the time off"...let the truth be told. Rich is such a great dad..he loves this stuff, and makes an effort to be there for all of their school activities, field trips, performances, carnivals, and all sorts of stuff. The next one is Doughnuts with dad, and their Filed Day.
So you'll be sure to find pix and stuff from that day.

Don't worry about the reindeer...they're just shedding to get all cool for summer before they put it all back on again to be ready to head out with Santa in December!

We have a pass to the PDZ and we get 3 people in for free anytime we go, so just let us know and we can at least get some of y'all in! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE zoos!
